Students organise penny drive
Monday, October 29, 2012

After we all went to the WE DAY Conference in Vancouver we have been inspired to make a change and help people in different countries that don’t have the things we do.

For example, a lot of people in the world don’t even have clean water. Now do you understand just how lucky we are? So why not gather up your pennies and take part in Canada’s largest penny drive.

How this all works is that every time we collect 2,500 pennies we will put them in a special bag and give them to the Royal Bank of Canada. They will then give them to an organization called Free the Children. The goal is to provide clean water to 100,000 people around the world.

Fun Fact: every 2,500 pennies we collect will provide clean water for 1 person for life. So please support this worthy cause and bring in your pennies to GES and we’ll take care of the rest.
