Gabe squadron cleans up

Degnen Bay saw 18 booted and gloved boaters haul two pickup loads of debris off the shoreline on Sept. 15, when the Gabriola Island Squadron sponsored the Annual Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup.

“Once again Degnen Bay is a cleaner environment for Gabriolans and the shoreline for sea and bird life”, said Commander Ian Waymark, noting that they picked up “close to a tonne of garbage”.
