The PipeDreams Project comes to Gabriola

Monday, September 10, 2012

Mark your calendar for Wednesday Sept. 12 because that is the day that The Pipedreams Project comes to the Rollo Centre. This film tells the story of an epic two-month adventure of three young kayakers who, in the fall of 2010, embarked on a journey in opposition to the Enbridge Northern Gateway Pipeline. Their journey took them through one of the last wild places on earth, the BC coast. This adventure brought them face to face with the complexity of the environmental assessment process, the difficulties local communities face in having their voices heard, and the growing resistance against the pipeline.

Save our Shores (SOS) Gabriola, is sponsoring this opportunity to see The Pipedreams Project as part of their effort to spread the word and rally support to oppose pipelines and oil tankers passing through BC lands and waters.

Following the film, there will be a question and answer discussion of issues around the pipeline proposal and tankers on our coast.

This is an opportunity for individuals to connect with other like-minded individuals in the growing opposition to pipelines and tankers.

The doors will open at 7 pm at the Rollo Centre on Wednesday, Sept. 12. All are welcome.
