Look out Spain! Here comes Canada!

Another set of soccer camps have just finished, and I had a blast. Our venue, the Gabriola Elementary School field, was in good shape, thanks to the work of Jake and the rest of the groundskeepers of the school district. We had enough T-shirts and juice for all the participants, thanks to the great sponsorship from Village Foods, Dairyland, and our credit union.

I had the wonderful privilege to coach alongside Emily Birch, Katie Higgins, Nicolas Ruitenbeek, Westerly Paterson, David Cosbey, and Hamish Ballentyne. And our coaching staff had the pleasure of teaching three fabulous groups of kids.

The camps ran from July 30 to August 10. The weather was spectacular, the youngsters brought enthusiasm with them each day, so they worked hard, improved their skills, learned more about working as a team, and seemed to have fun while doing it – I know I had fun just watching them. Does it get any better than this?

Thanks to all involved.
