Charges laid for Gabriola home invasion
Monday, August 20, 2012

Charges have been laid against three Gabriola residents after an Aug. 11 home invasion of a South Gabriola home, according to Gabriola RCMP Corporal Trevor MacKay.

“The home owners/occupants were home with two young children when three young males entered the home through the front door”, MacKay said Thursday. “After a brief discussion, two of the three male suspects assaulted the male, while the female occupant was pushed”.

“Two persons were arrested by Gabriola RCMP officers within a few hours of the incident, while the third was arrested the following morning”, MacKay added.

Two charges of “Break and Enter and Assault” have been laid against Eli Williams (20), MacKay said Saturday. He said one charge of “Break and Enter and Assault” has been laid against Adrian Picketts-Yoxall (20), and one charge of “Break and Enter with Intent” was laid against Timothy Caine (19).

The three men “were known to the (home’s) occupants”, MacKay said.

He said the men’s next court appearance is  scheduled for Aug. 28.
