Elderly activists can relax. The future is in good hands.

Martha Payne, age nine, took photos in the lunch room of her Scottish school, critiquing, in a blog, the nutritional content of the meals, and signing herself as “Veg”.

Outed by the mainstream media, she was told by the local municipal authority that further pictures were banned. This evoked such a huge storm of popular protest that the municipal council was forced to back down.

Martha’s blog has also, so far, raised some $80,000 for a British food charity called Mary’s Meals.
