A June 3 Oceans Day demonstration against tar sands pipelines and tankers  graphically illustrates the size of oil supertankers that could be used to ship that tar.

Carrying a “tanker tape” the same length as a supertanker, protesters stretched all the way down Ivory Way, said organiser Kristin Miller. The protest was organised in part by the Positive Energy Quilters and Gabriolan Deborah Ferens.
