Start those lips-a-smacking … The 57th Annual Salmon BBQ is around the corner!

The fabulous annual Salmon BBQ is coming up on Saturday August 11 … we can almost taste it already! The long-standing, 57-year tradition of fundraising for our Community Hall will see a great line-up of entertainers and chefs.

We could use volunteers in the morning for set-up, during the day, and in the evening for cleanup. If you would like to volunteer for the BBQ, we have lots of fun for you! We may need volunteers in other areas, but some of the spots available are: Friday night choppers and peelers (salads), set up and tear-down of the stage and beer garden, serving beer, serving ice cream, doing dishes, and of course, BBQ experts are always welcome! Every year Gabriolans WOW us with their talent; music, dance, storytelling, and variety entertainment and each year is always full of great surprises! If you are a Gabriolan and are interested in performing for the lip-smackingly enthusiastic salmon lovers, please contact Tsiporah Grignon at 250-247-8350.

This year’s 57th Annual Community Hall Salmon Barbeque is Sat. Aug. 11. The BBQ itself is from 4 pm to 8 pm – great salmon dinner for $15, beer garden, wonderful entertainment of local yokels (both young and old), and all of your friends and family in one spot! Don’t forget to mark your calendars for Aug. 11.

Watch for the community hall  board members selling raffle tickets for a $300 GIC from the Gabriola Coastal Credit Union, special thanks to them for their support.
