I really appreciate Muriel Wiens’ clear-headed and intelligent articles. It is wonderful to observe her experienced and still-engaged citizenship in action.

As an old hippie, who still believes that opening our hearts is the way to achieve the peace we long for, I have to disagree when she says the world does not need “love sweet love”, and instead issues a call for “courage to face reality”.

Don’t we really need  “loving courage to face reality”?
