Carol Mason, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for the Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) is moving to Vancouver, having accepted a position as CAO of Metro Vancouver.
Regional Director Howard Houle said that Mason informed RDN directors and staff of her move via email on Friday. He said Mason’s son, who is an Olympic athlete receives most of his training in high jumping in Vancouver, and it will be easier for him if she lives in Vancouver.
Mason says she will miss working at the RDN, Houle said, adding that she has described her position as “my dream job”.
“We’re really going to miss her”, Houle added, “I always had a good working relationship with her, and she’s done a good job for all of us”.
Houle said Mason will remain at the RDN “for a few more weeks”.
